So once again I find myself awake a lot at night. I know what you’re thinking, it’s because I have a new baby, but it’s genuinely not Thessaly’s fault. If I could sleep, I’d get a full night of sleep most nights, thanks to Andy’s taking first shift at night. But I can’t, much.
My awakeness has a somewhat different character than my last bout with insomnia. Usually I don’t feel super-awake, in fact I’m often nearly asleep, but not quite. I know when I’ve been asleep because I’ve been dreaming, or once because I completely missed a major fussing session from Tbot. I also haven’t adopted my previous migratory habits, wandering around the apartment waiting to feel sleepy, since I need to be able to hear Sweetie wake up so I can feed her. Actually, I often lie there wishing she’d wake up for her feeding so I’d have something to do.
Well, this can’t last forever…actually, it can, but I trust it won’t. In the meantime, if you ever find yourself awake and nervous in the watches of the night, don’t fear: likely I’m up monitoring the continued existence of the universe.
