I’m doing some last-minute reading-up on election issues this weekend, in hopes I can find some reason to vote for, rather than against, somebody. This essay in The Economist could probably be used in support of either candidate, though they hesitantly favor Kerry. I’ll continue posting links (perhaps some by people who can actually vote in this election!) if I find anything interesting.
One from U.S. News & World Report on the fear factor and how things have changed.
So Jon and I were driving to Boston this weekend and heard an interesting piece about canvassing voters on NPR. These people were going door to door to find out who people were voting for and were dumbfounded to come across this elderly lady who insisted she was going to do a write-in vote for ZZ Top. Her reasoning was that one candidate screwed up in Iraq and the other one kills babies, so she really didn’t see any reasonable alternative except to write in ZZ Top on her ballot. So if you can’t find any reason to vote for, rather than against, somebody, there’s always ZZ Top.
Hmmm…why not? I bet ZZ Top have some creative ideas about politics. It’s about time their voices were heard.
I saw someone with the sig “Google for President” recently too. I just enjoy saying “President Google”.
